Gameplay In SP you start as ruler over a small planet. There you have to build up the infrastructure at first, thus ensuring the production of resources on your planet. At the beginning growth is rather slow and it takes some time until you score your first points – later in the game thousands of points per day are no problem. New players can start in a special galaxy, the Bootcamp, so they can learn the basics of the game without having to compete with experienced players. Once a player reaches 1000 points he has to transfer to a galaxy of his choice. Of course you can also join the Galaxy directly without going through the Boot Camp. There are some basic buildings like mines available for producing the three resources: Metal, crystal and tritium. As soon as a solid basic supply is ensured one can start to do research and to build a fleet. Later on, further planets can be colonized and later expanded. Step by step new buildings, research, ships and defensive structures are unlocked. Additionally there are two specializations, warrior and merchant, that allow special buildings and ships. Interaction with other players Of course you and your empire are not alone in the deep of space. Other emperors, some of whom are friendly and some that are hostile against you are all around. At any time there may be an emperor that is jealous of your prosperity and attempts to steal your resources or to destroy your ships. Or maybe you are the evil one that is going to steal and plunder from the others? Alliances Players can form alliances whose members protect each other. Alliances can elect a leader and administer themselves. They can declare war at other alliances or sign treaties. A powerful alliance is a most effective tool in the struggle for the top ranks. Specializations Merchants are one of the two specializations in the Space-Pioneers universe. They are able to build trading posts through which intergalactic trade can be initiated. Merchants can also build very large transporter ships and Voyagers, ships that are able to enlarge planets by terraforming them. The second specialization type is the Warrior. Warriors can build the powerful Motherships that can transport other ships. Using wormholes the warrior’s fleets can reach any point of a galaxy in a short time. Huge Megarecyclers enable the warriors to efficiently recycle the large debris fields that originate from space battles.
